The Labour List

The Labour List believes in solidarity, academic freedom and community! Our greatest responsibility is being the voice for students, to secure the best possible student experience. Social Democratic values should be the fundament of student politics, and we will continue our fight for equity in academia, increased student welfare, and equal opportunities for all students. 

What matters to us:

Strengthen the student economy! Students should be able to study full time without falling below the poverty line. In such a wealthy country, the cost of living should be affordable for every student.  We want to increase the students’ economic support, make public transportation cheaper for students, and build more student housing accommodations.

The University must offer work-relevant internships with credits. Credits must be awarded for internships undergone that are relevant for the studies and work life. Studies are supposed to prepare students for the life ahead, and relevant internships will give students the security we need to step into the working life. The Labour List believes in “learning by doing”. We want UiO to offer credits for relevant internships and work experience, and strengthen career services to provide all students with good guidance."

Better mental health services! Many students report loneliness and mental health struggles. We believe studies should be adjusted for struggling students. No one should drop out of their studies due to lack of support. We want a good mental health service to be easily accessible for students at UiO.
